I've tried all sorts of updating and upgrading, and nothing under brew doctor seems to be relevant. I recently updated my version of Octave using Homebrew and something went a bit eerie. On the Mac, these are available via Mac Ports, on Fink, and possibly on Homebrew. However, other light-weight Emacs-like editors still exist, and I have been trying out three of these, vile, zile, and jmacs.
